Lindy Hop is an American dance style born in Harlem, New York during the 1920s. Hugely popular during the 1930s and 40s, Lindy Hop saw a huge revival in the 1980s that continues to thrive today. It is often seen as the “flagship” dance of authentic jazz and swing dances. The dance is infectiously fun both to do and watch, often characterized with lots of energy and improvisational qualities.
Our average age range in attendance is somewhere in their early 20s to late 30s, however, swing dancing is for all ages! We regularly have students and visiting dancers of nearly every age category, anyone who wants to dance with us is always welcome regardless of any factor.
If you’re just getting started, there’s no time like right now! Our weekly 6:45pm class is drop-in and teaches the basics from the ground level each week, so you can start on any Monday you wish.
Our weekly dance starts right after the last class ends, so you can get dancing right away. The Madonna Inn hosts our weekly swing dance night from 8-11pm, so please join us!
